Privacy Policy
This policy explains what information Torqued.app collects, how we use it, and the choices you have — for both shop owners who use Torqued, and their customers.
1. Who this policy covers
This policy explains how Torqued.app ("Torqued," "we," "us") collects and uses information from two groups of people: mechanics and shop owners who create a Torqued account ("Account Holders"), and the customers of those businesses who interact with a Torqued-powered storefront or quote form ("End Customers").
Account Holders are the customer of Torqued directly. End Customers are the customer of the mechanic's business — Torqued processes their information on the Account Holder's behalf, as described below.
2. Information we collect from Account Holders
Account information: name, email, phone, business name, and password (stored securely, never in plain text).
Business details you provide: service area, pricing, service list, hours, logo, and other content used to build your storefront.
Billing information: your subscription plan and billing history. Card details themselves are handled directly by Stripe, our payment processor — we do not store your card number.
Usage data: how you interact with the dashboard, for the purpose of improving the product and diagnosing issues.
3. Information we collect from End Customers
When an End Customer requests a quote or submits a form on a Torqued-powered storefront, we collect what they provide: name, email, phone, address, and vehicle details (year, make, model). This information is stored on behalf of, and made visible to, the Account Holder whose storefront the customer used — it becomes part of that business's own customer records.
Torqued does not sell End Customer information, and does not use it for our own marketing without the Account Holder's separate consent.
4. How we use information
To operate the core product — quoting, scheduling, invoicing, and storefront hosting.
To bill Account Holders for their subscription, via Stripe.
To send transactional communications (quote notifications, account emails) and, where consented to, product updates.
To maintain security, prevent fraud and abuse, and comply with legal obligations.
To analyze aggregate, non-identifying usage trends to improve the product.
5. Payments — what we do and do not process
Torqued does not process payments between an Account Holder's business and their End Customers, and does not integrate with any payment processor for that purpose. Invoices generated in the app are for the Account Holder's own record-keeping; End Customers pay the Account Holder directly, by whatever method they've agreed on outside of Torqued.
The only payment processing Torqued performs is billing Account Holders for their own Torqued subscription, handled by Stripe. See Stripe's own privacy policy for how they handle that payment data.
6. Cookies and analytics
We use essential cookies required for the site to function, and — only with your consent — functional and analytics cookies, including Google Analytics, to understand how the site is used. You can review and change your preferences at any time on our Cookie Preferences page.
7. Data storage and security
Account and business data is stored in our own database infrastructure. We use industry-standard measures — encrypted connections, access controls, and regular security practices — to protect information, though no system can be guaranteed 100% secure.
8. Data retention and deletion
We retain Account Holder and End Customer data for as long as the Account Holder's account is active, plus a reasonable period after cancellation to allow for account recovery and legal/tax record-keeping. Account Holders can request deletion of their account and associated data from their account settings or by contacting us — see our Data Processing Agreement and GDPR pages for details on End Customer deletion requests.
9. Third parties we share information with
Stripe — for billing Account Holder subscriptions.
Google (Analytics) — for aggregate, consent-gated usage analytics.
Our email delivery provider — for transactional and account emails.
We do not sell personal information to third parties.
10. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or export your personal information, and to object to certain processing. See our GDPR and CCPA pages for region-specific details, or contact us directly to exercise these rights.
11. Children's privacy
Torqued is a business tool and is not directed at, or intended for use by, children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
12. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the product changes. Material changes will be reflected by an updated "Last updated" date at the top of this page.
